| Technical Specification: | Highly elastic, 2 part, polyester based, extreme temperature range (usable at temperatures other fillers cannot reach) |
| Range of use: | Trains, buses, machine building, plastic coating, car bodywork. |
| Powder Coating: | Contains metallic particles giving good earth up to 200°C without bubbling. |
| Technical data: |
Good adhesion to Iron,
Steel, Aluminium, Wood, Stone and Plastic (many types) Retains flexibility and withstands high temperatures at a constant:- 180°C for several hours 150°C for one day 130°C for one week |
| Pre-treatment: | Adhesion is good but surface must be clean, dry, rust and oil free (light sanding will provide a good key). On plastics that are not resistant to solvents, component must be primed prior to application of filler. |
| How to work with it: |
Always use gloves
for protection. Mixed between 1% and 4% hardener to paste. Above 4% Hardener, there is less adhesion and rapid surface drying will increase overall hardening time. Less than 1% Hardener, good adhesion but longer hardening time. Thicker layers use 1-2% hardener, this will allow correct chemical reaction sequence. |
| Filler worktime: |
The filler will remain
malleable for the length of time stated at the specified air
temperature. (Assuming workpiece temperature is not vastly different.) Ideal temperature = 20°C 1% Hardener = 5-6 minutes 2% Hardener = 3-4 minutes 3% Hardener = 2-3 minutes 4% Hardener = 2 minutes Low temperature = 10°C 2% Hardener = 8-9 minutes High temperature = 30°C 2% Hardener = 1-2 minutes. |
| Time before sanding: | Material will be "Sandable" in approximately 15 - 30 minutes. |
| Shelf life: | 12 months. |
| Compatiblity: | Every primer Rotil has been test with has passed with no negative results. All paint products currently in use are compatible. |
| Flexibility: | Sheet metal can be bent between 45° and 70° before cracking occurs. (Depending on the thickness of filler.) |
